As you know, the CESAV administration encourages the use of the complaints form to solve disputes arising from incidents that have taken place in an official competition. Of course, you can also settle your differences personally, either using our forum's private messaging system or the public messaging system, if you believe it is necessary to call attention to inappropriate but easily amendable behaviour.

Whichever means you decide to use, we suggest you to always use a friendly language. We can all have a bad temper sometimes, but to express those feelings in public writing them down on the web creates a bad environment and ultimately harms us all.

In order for the complaints to be truly useful, it is advisable to submit them in the appropriate manner:

• First of all we must specify (it's a drop-down) the time of the event. Otherwise the list of drivers who participated will not be loaded and you will not be able to proceed.
  
  
• The list of pilots who participated in the event will not load and you will not be able to proceed.
  
  
• The list of pilots to claim against is presented as follows: "nickname CESAV (track name) LFS licence". In my case you will see "tangovalens (Tango) tangovalens" as my CESAV nickname matches my license, but this is not always the case.
  
  
• In case the incident to be reported has exceptionally taken place in a place other than the qualifying or race, the list of drivers to choose from will be the list of all registered drivers on the forum and can only be searched by "CESAV nickname". Think carefully if this is the option that fits your claim.
  
  
• Next you must specify the leg, if there are 2 or more, and the lap or minute where the events took place.
  
  
• Finally you must explain briefly and concisely what happened.
  

Why is it important to state the lap and minute of the incident?
We understand that in order to provide this information it is necessary to watch the replay of the race, and we do not always have the time to do it. To make life easier for the complainants, we have created a collision log (to be found in the Race Statistics and Replays section) that will help you finding an incident in which you car was involved . If that is the case the button "Complain incident" will autofill the form for you, but you sitll need to accurately explain what happened.

Please, bear in mind that the judges must also watch the replay to check for that incident you complained, so descriptions such as "in the last quarter of the race" or "on numerous occasions" do not help to locate it. Thus the judges' decission can be absolutely unsatisfactory to the eyes of the complainant, since only actions that can be documented for later public review are penalised. This is the only way to grant a fair process to all CESAV members.

How can I be concise if I have to be brief?
The best way to describe inappropriate behaviour is to know our rules and see if the driver being reported fails to meet them.

What should never be done when submitting a complaint?
As a general rule, claims that are nonsensical or with the purpose to harm a driver are not allowed. Nor should we become inventive in the description of the incident in an attempt to adjust it to a type of aggravated sanction. That is for the judge to decide. Finally, there should never be any disrespect towards the driver who is the subject of the complaint, nor should foul language be used. This has a negative impact on the judges' impression of the complainant, and the complaint becomes public, so everyone eventually sees the manners used.

Finally, please remember that you can submit as many complaints as you wish and that penalties are applied for each complaint submitted. If a driver does not respect the blue flags and, in addition, causes accidents by driving recklessly, two complaints can be filed. If there is only one complaint, only that complaint will be settled and the corresponding penalty (if any) will be applied.
